Hiring, Training, and Supervising Library Shelvers

This little guide from ALA series for the “busy librarian” is perhaps the most succinctly helpful book on the topic of training those who reshelve books in the library.  A tedious task, to be sure, but is there a more needful one?  Patricia Tunstall is a reference assistant at a public library in Illinois and offers a number of practical suggestions that we have already adopted and reaped benefits from here in our academic library.

I recommend this as required reading for all library administrators regardless of library type.
